Welcome back to Henry E.S. Reeves Elementary School where learning is fun and failure is not an option. I am Mrs. Bethune the guidance counselor. As guidance counselor, my mission is to prepare students socially, academically and emotionally for present and future challenges through a safe, caring and stimulating environment. I strive to accomplish this mission by providing a planned, purposeful and sequential program of activities that begins in kindergarten and continues through fifth grade. The program is data driven by student needs and provides outcome based accountability measures. This aligns the counseling program with the school's overall academic mission. I work collaboratively with students, educators, parents and community members to empower students to reach their highest potential. Our dedicated faculty and staff, in partnership with the community, strive to meet each student's individual needs.
Program Goal:
The goal of the Counseling and Guidance Program is to promote the development of the fundamental skills of self-concept and healthy interpersonal relationships. It emphasizes decision-making, self awareness, and the exploration of future career and educational options.
